It usually arrives in mid-December (December 17 in 2024, December 15 in 2025) and you find it in Memories. When does Snapchat Recap come out?
Snapchat has released its Recap in the second half of December for the last two years:

Snapchat hasn't announced the 2026 date yet. Mid-December is the safe bet. It rolls out gradually, so some people get it a day or two later than their friends.
How to see your Snap Recap
- Open Snapchat on the camera screen.
- Swipe up to open Memories.
- Tap your Snap Recap card at the top.
You can watch it, save it and share it to your Story or with friends.
Snapchat Recap not showing?
The most common reasons:
- It is still rolling out. Wait a day and check again.
- Old app version. Update Snapchat from the App Store or Google Play.
- Not enough activity. Accounts that sent very few Snaps that year may not get one.
- Memories is off or empty. Recap lives in Memories, so open it once and let it load.
What Snap Recap shows (and what it doesn't)
Recap is a highlight reel of your year on Snapchat. Depending on the year, it has shown things like your top moments, top friends and favorite Lenses.
What it doesn't show is the story of one chat:
- how many messages you and one friend sent each
- who texts first most of the time
- who replies in minutes and who takes hours
- the words you both use most
- whether the interest goes both ways

- Select Chat History, tick Export JSON Files and submit.
- When the email arrives, download the zip.
